Really striking, the depth of colour on the apples and the sheen on both them and the bowl are wonderful, I can 'feel' the apples' texture. Love the blue against the reds too, fab.

Glazing is the answer to give the added depth of color which cannot be achieved with mixing the paint. It's not a technique for the impatient but it does make you look more deeply at the subject and by doing so you discover those "hidden" colours which make the painting "Pop". In this painting the apples "Pop".

Oil on board. Many layers and glazes. Little larger than A3. From photo by Sanatgen. This is my second still life whilst I wait for inspiration for my next portrait. Struggling a bit these days to find the right subject matter but every painting is a learning curve!
