This is lovely! the newspaper really adds to the grittiness of the image. I know only too well how it feels to try to reduce the detail - so easy to get caught up in the little things and lose sight of the whole picture.

Thank you for your comments on my Gallery they certainly helped with my motivation. I do not paint many portraits myself but appreciate the skill needed to paint these. This one in your galley I particularly loved its has a feeling of connection
