Lanky Trees by Fiona Phipps

Comments

A painting with a most unusual subject. I like it a lot!

Very nicely painted Fiona , would be interesting to find out what type of trees they are . I do enjoy the unusual things you find to paint and draw.

Interesting composition Fiona like the care free way it seems to have been painted.

Beautifully light-filled and a really windswept feeling, Fiona - lovely!

Lovely and bright Fiona, there is a lot of those lanky trees in Cornwall too lol.

Beautiful painting Fiona, lovely sky.

Great movement, lovely colour and beautifully blended tones Fiona.

I love this soft atmosphere, distant trees and superb sky Fiona.

Another smasher Fiona

Lovely fresh feel to this one Fiona, the lively brush marks are excellent!

There is a softness about this one Fiona that gives it a different personality. Like it.

This has a fresh, breezy feel to it, Fiona. Love the soft colours.

Thank you all so much for your positive feedback, always appreciated.

I like it, Fiona; especially the foreground. There's enough definition to suggest interesting textures of grasses, ? cow parsley etc. but they are only suggested and don't compete for attention with the trees.

Such a beautiful painting, fantastic, Fiona!

I really like the colours in this Fiona.

Roger thank you very much for you observations, I struggle with…when to stop syndrome! Manoj, David….thank you both for taking the time to look and comment.

Beautifully done as always. I just love the foreground.

Love those lanky trees and the wild flowers in the bottom left hand corner.

Really like the grass and colours and your lanky trees

Diane, Ellen, Faye….thank you ladies for your very kind comments.

Love this Fiona- it has got everything you'd want in a landscape with the fascinating lollipop trees and that fantastic sky. I am also curious to know what trees they are.

Thank you very much Carol. Next time I go by the place where they are I’ll take my binoculars, and let you know if I’m any the wiser. X Brian, thank you for your lovely comment, it was actually spitting of rain s well as being breezy. So glad you like it Romila! Thank you.

Lovely composition Fiona and a real feel of a blustery day , great texture and your signature touch of little colour detail of those flowers in the foreground. Smashing!

Tessa thank you! Glad you like the detail, I always hesitate in case I go over the top….which I normally do!

Think everyone has said it Fiona, but it's a beauty. Love the colours and the way you have painted the foreground.

Thank you very much David, appreciate your comment.

I really like this one Fiona. Thank you for your very kind comment on my with as well. I don't seem to be able to reply to individual comments so thought I'd leave my thanks here as well. Excellent work.

16”x12” oil on Belle arti board. These unusual shaped trees are just off the road between Whauphill and Wigtown. I don’t know whether they have been sculptured by the elements…..it is an exposed area……or they grow this way, I can’t make out what species they are. They are so tall but have no lower branches…..a mystery.
