Rooks on the Rise...(29) by Fiona Phipps

This is rather good! Very nice drawing and colours as well F.

Like this Fiona, looks quite wild and windy .

A really nice painting Fiona , so much movement created as well as a fine composition and selection of colours .

Full of movement, Fiona. I can almost feel and hear the wind!

I’m interested in your feedback with this one, as it’s a bit ‘wild’, for me. The twisted tree is a wee bit over stated but I got carried away. Thank you very much.

You have a real sense of movement here, Fiona- you can almost hear the rooks too!

Certainly wild Fiona. Rooks are always a good subject to me, The pink and pale blue in the sky certainly indicates a wintry day.

Great movement and drama

Love the dickie birds distance and great foreground plus the pure expressionism Fiona keep giving us your inspiration

Lots of movement and general feeling of a very windy day, see you can paint trees?😉

Anne, Richard, Hilary, Dennis, William....thank you all very much for your positive comments, I’m very grateful. I can’t do trees like you though William.

The rooks have been blown out of the trees! Like all the colours, Fiona.

Paint it as you see it. The result is art.

I love the way you have done the tree Fiona, it looks great.

Love your use of colours Fiona, and the movement you’ve achieved.

Great movement and energy Fiona, I like it very much.

Love your colours, so much life in this one.

Dynamic! I love it!

This is great, Fiona, so full of movement - love all those colours!

Love this Fiona, reminds me of the rookery at a nearby country park when all the rooks are circling around before they roost for the night.

Many thanks everyone for your continued kindness and support. I love to watch the rooks, whether they are flirting with the air currents, or pacing up and down the fields looking for tasty morsels.

I love the spontaneity of this, Fiona.

I let out an aah! when I saw this Fiona. I think it is so alive. You do seem to be racing through your "33" and I don't seem to be able to keep up. Well done you.

This is gorgeous painting Fiona

Ellen, Carol, Romila....ladies, thank you for your lovely comments. Carol, I don’t know if I will make it. I’m trying to do one per two days because I know I won’t get one done every day! I will attempt not to get as sloppy as I usually am! Lol

Great colours and very dynamic, you can see the rooks are having a wonderful time.

That’s just what I thought Sandra, glad you can see they look as though they are having fun.

14”x12” mixed media on Saunders paper. Sat at the kitchen table late afternoon yesterday and the sky was a mix of that cold thin winter blue with a pink horizon. I could only see half the tree but the rooks were ducking and diving in and out of the trees, and playing on the wind. They looked as though they were having a wonderful time.
