His style is quite flat looking as you know Fiona, including his backgrounds - it’s starting to take on some resemblance so a good start!

Many thanks everyone for your positive observations, appreciate your input. Alan and Marjorie, I was hoping you would give me your view on this. I know you are a keen fan of Morandi Marjorie, I don’t think I’m getting anywhere near the ‘plainness’ or ‘simplicity’ of his work yet. I have a feeling that it will all change on Tuesday, depending on the light in the hall…..it will be a re-paint I think. It might be easier to start again.

Morandi was a new name to me too Fiona but I have since looked him up and I can certainly see the likeness. I really like this and I too am looking forward to the finished painting. Well done.

16”x14” oil on paper. Following on from last term, ‘painting in the style of’….first artist this term is Morandi, who we didn’t get to start last term because of storm Arwen. Managed to get this much done last week, will attempt to rectify a few perspective issues, and finish it on Tuesday. Not looking much like a Morandi yet, the light was awful last week, trying to pick out the subtle shades of white against white was a challenge.
