This has a very calm and relaxed feel about it Fiona, lovely.

New season, new palette, Fiona, but your style is always unmistakable.

Lovely rolling fields Fiona.

Lovely light loose brushwork Fiona, very stylish as usual. Love it.

a suggestion of sunlight, very much like the handling of the distant trees Fiona the shrubs in the foreground balance the scene beautifully lovely airy feel love it ,love it ,love it

Lovely Fiona, especially like the softly coloured trees and the fence line.

A lovely Summery painting, must be something in the air! You're signature wonderful trees Fiona always a delight.

As always your brilliant tree and fence lines stand out Fiona, but on this one I do really like the tall grasses with their seed heads on the left so subtle but for me so architectural and anchor the painting on that side bringing my eye back into the middle. The colours used for the field showing the contures give you a happy feeling the (hold it under your chin do you like butter) feeling of summer meadows, a smashing painting Fiona.

Uplifting for me too Fiona. That hedge line is something I must try and emulate because it's the bees knees.

Another smashing example of depicting what's on your doorstep.

The hedgerows and fields are full with wild flowers at the moment and this has a beautiful "fleeting" view of the lovely spring colours,Fiona.

I'm catching the next train up Fiona. Wish I could say summer has arrived here but it is cold, damp and thick fog. You seem to catch the scenery with as few strokes as possible.

Definitely captured that summer feeling Fiona....lovely!

Thank you very much Margaret, Cesare...yes a different palette, manganese blue, lemon yellow, burnt sienna, Indian yellow and ultra marine. Sarah, Anthony, David...thank you, thank you thank you!!lo Thanks Jenny, Carole, Malcolm....that's just what I thought of, buttercups under the chin, when I looked out on the field!lol Dennis, Michael thank you. Michael, yes have a go, quite simple to do.

Many thanks Derek, Pat, Adele...we've been quite fortunate with the weather over the last few days here, and looks as though it's going to be good for the next few days too. Thank you Sylvia much appreciated.

Superb painting, Fiona. Love that line of trees and the light they capture.

Thank you very much Lionel, appreciate your comment.

It looks gorgeous Fiona, the best time of the year.

Lovely summer feel, and your usual excellent trees. Lovely piece.

Many thanks Satu and Andre for your comments.

Lovely colours Fiona. Really conveys a summery feel.

Looks so simple and yet I know it isn't - brill Fiona

Thanks very much Peter, Michael and Gudrun for your smashing comments!

Love the juxtaposition of the restful foreground and the vibrant brushwork for the trees, Fiona. A very effective contrast.

16" x 12" watercolour on Jackson's rough paper. Summer has arrived in Glenturk! I looked across the field at the back of where I live and the sight of the buttercups and daisies in the sunshine was uplifting. Tried to catch just a little of the sunshine in this.
