Lovely and snowy Alan

A real feel of melting snow.

A delightful scene Alan.

A lovely snow scene.

Not had a flake around here....just ice. Very attractive scene, Alan. Particularly like the foreground brush strokes.

Great scenery and composition, Alan. Special colours too.

Lovely snow scene, Alan, I especially like the soft foreground colours and textures.

Lovely......Brrrr, really love the colours you have used in the foreground

Happy New Year Alan! This is a lovely composition for the new year... full of atmosphere. I still have not tried my water base Oils, but this scene might get me started.

Very atmospheric Alan - feels chilly! Well done

Lovely colours in the snow Alan. We are always told that snow is not white, but still sometimes I find it difficult not to paint it that way! You’ve obviously cracked that.

Love the limited palette, Alan - a beautiful winter scene.

That’s next year’s Christmas card sorted Alan. A typical snowy landscape emanating iciness and chilliness.

Love the pale violet shadow of the snow on the road, and hinted at again in the sky contrasting with the red/orange of the buildings/ trees - very nice Alan

Lovely thick paint in the foreground Al, like the palette too. I hope you took care going out in the snow and ice?

Beautiful painting Alan with lovely colours in the snow.

What beautiful subtle colours so harmonious Alan.

Thanks everyone for your comments, I appreciate them immensely!

A fabulous scene and great painting Alan

Beautiful snowy scene Alan

Beautiful expressive painting. Love the colour palette

What a great snow scene Alan. That area bottom right is almost glowing.

You paintings always look very effective with minimum effort. This is no exception. Just enough detail. Charming scene.

I love the limited palette you've used here Alan.

A beautiful snow scene Alan, it has such charm. The red brick buildings and trees look beautiful in contrast with the recent fall of snow , lovely.

How did I miss this Alan? The lovely toned greys and the warm shades in the building’s captures a winter scene perfectly. The more I look the more I find to enjoy.

Perfect snow scene, love the colours!

During the recent snow fall, I couldn’t resist the opportunity to get out locally and take a few photo’s and make some rapid ink sketches to work from back in the studio. I always prefer to work from my own material rather than painting from imagination - inspiration and new material is hard to come by at the moment, but it’s all around us if we take the time to look! Oil on board 40x50cm
