Really like this, especially the wide format, gives such a sense of space.

Yes Alan a lovely painting and as Sarah said the format is great . Well done Alan

Your wonderful colours and light again, Alan! I so wish that I cold paint like you!

I really like the palette you have been developing - it's very recognisable Alan . The touches of peach (! ) in the sky and the reflections of it next to the Windsor (!) in the water plus the sails is great .

Thank you Sandra and Dennis for your kind comments, Satu, you already paint superbly, this impressionistic or non-photographic style that I adopt is just a matter of throwing caution to the wind, working quickly and not complicating matters with detail.

Thanks Helen, I use that pink colour quite a lot, the blue is a mix of ultramarine, indigo and white as I recall.

Beautiful last light Alan, as always great palette.

A beauty Alan, I really like the way the light comes through on to the water and the far buildings are in shadow, just great.

Another your gem, Dennis, with gorgeous colours.

Always love your colour choices, Alan, looks good, the darks & the lights, great.

Thank you Carole, Gudrun, Margaret, Cesare and Willie, I do appreciate the time taken to look at my work.

Those reflections Alan...a bit special... glad you enjoyed your trip to my neck of the woods .

Appreciated Sylvia, yes my daughter and I did enjoy our weekend painting trip, staying in Abersoch at St Tudwals Inn. My parent's had a static van for donkey's years just outside the town on a secluded small site by a lovely bay, alas we no longer have it. I am very fond of North Wales and it is only a few hours or so away from my home.

Simply love your oil painting Alan and this is superb

What a beauty Alan! Love the palette and all those lovely marks and brush strokes.

I need Indigo! - l have many blue 's but not that one . Thank you .

I love the oils you are producing in this format Alan. Great lights and darks with that red sail linking with the colours in the sky making a very harmonious painting.

David, Fiona and Barry, much appreciated, thanks.

Lovely work again Alan and the play of light is fabulous

Lovely dramatic and very interesting picture, Alan.

Really like this painting

Superb immediacy to this piece, Alan, and loads of atmosphere. Great stuff!

Oil on board 10 x 25in painted en-plein-air a few weeks ago. A continuation of quick oil sketches that I have been developing, reference for later studio work.
