The charcoal scribbles really add a nice tough to this Alan. Lovely palette and scene.

Minimalism! Captures the weather perfectly Alan.

Thanks guys… sometimes these wet in wet washes work, but it’s a bit hit and miss!

5 minutes? I can't produce anything in that amount of time.

Love the spontaneity, simplicity, energy and the limited palette!

Superb sketch Alan

Saying a lot with a minimum of means - it puts me in mind of one of my favourite H H Brabazon sketches.

Scribbles and washes, who would have thought they could say so much Alan. Beautiful.

5 mins of magic ✨️

Good sketch!

Oh just lovely Alan, love the spontaneity of this-

You make it look so easy Alan, if only...

Captured perfectly Alan.

Super sketch. Full of spontaneous energy

oh that's great!

Rapid, but nothing has been lost ……..it’s got atmosphere, colour and energy.

Minimalist but yet conveys so much.

Full of feeling Alan.

This is how it should be done, no messing or fiddling no overworking which sometimes I am guilty of! Love the spontaneous brush work so delicate but although I like the scribble in the land I am not sure I would have put it in the sky as I think of skies being delicate and the landscape more rough or scribbly but I think I am about to be told I am wrong? Just a personal thought but truly love this kind of work.👍

Thanks guys, William, you are probably right about the scribble in the sky, but I’m okay with it. It won’t be going anywhere, apart from a portfolio!

Autumnal and misty! But great for capturing an early morning atmospheric landscape - a rapid 5 minute (at most) watercolour sketch from my patio, in my Two Rivers sketchbook. Limited palette and some wet in wet technique applied, plus a few charcoal pencil scribbles!
