As Ann has said this is a powerful sketch Alan, the colours shone out from the gallery page. I always find locks quite fascinating (if hard to paint).

I can't find the words any more Alan, to tell you how much I love your sketches and paintings. They are so inspiring, beautiful to look at and admire. Here, I think the ink is the queen and with the free fluid strokes keeps the rest in order. Wonderful!

Ink and watercolour sketch painted yesterday on the spot, the building just in view on the right is the Star Inn, a rather fine and unspoilt hostelry, a popular watering hole for boaters, why not? I hope that this will provide some inspiration for a finished piece at a later stage.
