Picking up on Paul’s tribute to ships attached to the convoys, prompted me to look through my fathers war photographs. He joined the Royal Navy at the tender age of 15 and most of his service was on HMS Malaya which protected convoys in the North Atlantic, Malta, East and West Mediterranean, as well as the Normandy landings and other engagements. I know he would rather have been firing flowers from the ships guns, than the alternative. Rest easy……
