Winding Back to Autumn

Comments

Lovely painting, Fiona - it has lots of energy and vibrancy...

Wonderful, has all that windy autumn weather and a feel of winter coming on.

This is lovely Fiona. I love those trees and lovely colours. You can feel the breeze.

Lovely warm colours, Fiona. It cheers everyone up to see the sun - even in a painting.

Love this one Fiona, love the light and the vibrant autumn colours. I like the way you have painted the trees too- all lovely!

That is really good, Fiona. I love the trees and bushes and how they stand out against the sky!

Love that expansive, blue sky framing the lively trees Fiona. I also like the way you have painted the foreground so loosely.

Fabulous again Fiona. Really like this

Like it lots Fiona , the colours are really good and it painted beautifully.

Love it! Some excellent bold passages and glorious colours. I may have graduated the sky a bit more to be picky… but I like being picky as you know!

A beauty lovely colours and energy in your painting 🖼

Super autumn colours Fiona and done on two consecutive Sundays. I didn't think that possible with UK weather.

Good strong tones here Fiona, that autumnal tree attracts the eye and I like the rough grasses in the foreground.

Beautiful, fresh and lot's of light flooding in, lovely Fiona.

So grateful that you take the time to look, and leave your kind words of encouragement. I don’t say this often enough, you are a wonderful supportive lot!

A bright sunny day, I remember those. Love the way this is painted.

Tones beautifully together.

Confident painting- energy, colour and great brushwork.

Ah, blue skies..if only, non stop rain here! It's a lovely painting Fiona with a real Autumn feel to it!

Such a beautiful painting, Fiona!

Lovely painting, Fiona. I looks very wild.

Love the warm colour of the beech against that blue sky, Fiona. Beeches in autumn are glorious, I drive through an avenue of them on my way to our local heath.

A super painting, Fiona - a lovely windy, bright atmosphere!

Fabulous painting Fiona.

Lewis, Stephen, Shaun, Louise, Manoj, Ellen, Jenny, Anne, Caroline…. thank you very much for your great comments! X

Oof and there was I scrolling through when I thought ‘that’s a good un’. Not surprised it’s yours Fiona! Love the trees, the windy look, and the sunlight so well captured, also the looseness of your style.

This is superb Fiona, you have caught the sun on the side of the trees and they look windswept defiantly an Autumn day. Love the way have painted the trees and everything else, I am super jealous! BRILLIANT!

Lol…..bless you Tessa, you give my confidence a real boost….thank you. Have you managed to source any classes? William, that’s just how I feel when I see your wonderful watercolours! Thank you x

Not yet Fiona but have discussed with a few others who feel the same way. A few of us are planning an ‘excess art’ sale in the village in late February to clear space!

Gorgeous painting; I really love the sky, in fact I love everything about it! I wonder what lies through the gap in the hedge. 🤔 Super brush strokes!

Beautiful, a real representation of autumn, excellent colours and foreground grasses

This is lovely Fiona and so nice to see after yesterday's rain and dark skies. The Autumn colours are always so welcome.

That’s a good idea Tessa, good luck. Have you thought of speaking to the head of art in your local secondary/Academy schools? If any of their art teachers take any extracurricular clubs/groups for adults, or retired teachers that may be persuaded to do a class for a bit of pocket money.

Karen, David, Carol……thank you very much for your lovely comments.

Lovely painting, Fiona.

Thank you Shirley, very kind of you.

It has a windy day feel to it, great to be able to put that kind of energy into a picture.

Hi Stevan, thank you for your feedback. The day was a very still day but the trees, like some of your wonderful specimens, are trained that way by the westerlies.

Turned out beautifully x

That’s a beauty Fiona! Love everything about it-

16”x12” oil on Belle arti canvas board. Winding the clock back to the autumn where I managed two consecutive sunny Sundays to paint from the same spot, at the same time of day. I’ve been meaning to catch the beech clinging on to its overcoat for a couple of years! I can tick it off my list now…..
