The blue tint rally works so well with this palette. Right up my street!

Beautiful. Very you 😍

Yes, it’s a nice palette. Oh, another storm coming!

Yes the blue works well in this Fiona, a beautiful piece of art.

Beautifully painted Fiona , its stunning.

Super work. Although the calmest of your recent works, it still looks weatherbeaten.

A cracking painting Fiona, certainly captured the rainy day. The weather here was horrendous earlier!

Beautifully loose and atmospheric.

Excellent watercolor, I love the natural colour palette, beautiful.

That is truly superb, Fiona!!

Diana, Faye, Marjorie…yes, another slight breeze on its way, good job I have plenty of paint in stock. Carole, Paul, Lewis, Tessa….I think you’ve got more to come, get the paints out! James, David and David..thanks to all for your kind and generous comments. Appreciate you taking the time.

This is lovely Fiona. You have really shown the effect of the weather.

It’s turned out really well, a very competent watercolour considering it’s on Bockingford, blotting paper I call it! That’ll make me a nice studio!

It's a gorgeous painting Fiona, the colours really compliment each other.

Lovely result Fiona - like how you have painted the foreground in particular. Looks a lovely spot.

Lovely palette

Lovely cottage Fiona, I didn't know bockingford did tinted paper, interesting.

That's gorgeous, Fiona and such an interesting idea to use tinted paper!

This is rather special Fiona, like it a lot

Lovely subject and beautifully painted watercolour Fiona.

Love this, a beautiful painting Fiona

Really good Fiona.

I love this; what a great scene beautifully painted.

My grateful thanks to you for your lovely comments Alan, Michael….no I don’t like Bockingford at all, I’ve got a couple of full imperial sheets to use. I’ll probably use them for Justin’s work. Lesley, I took advantage of Jackson’s recent price reductions which in clouded the tinted paper. They have blue, grey, cream and yellow, I think.

Beautiful watercolour Fiona, reminds me a little of some of the work by the late John Blockley you should be very pleased with yourself.

I really like the cottage nestled amongst the trees. The blue tint works well.

WOW! Fantastic, Fiona

Love this painting and love your colour combinations

That is sooo good Fiona. I've never tried tinted w/c paper but this works beautifully. Stay safe from storm Dudley!

Love that wonderfully soft, misty atmosphere and your vibrant use of marks, lines and washes. Lovely work, Fiona!

Lovely piece Fiona, captured the season really well with that pallet.

Thank you Alan, and thank you for the compliment?….I wish. David, Thalia, Cecilia, Val, Seok, Stevan …..your lovely comments are a huge boost to my confidence, thank you.

This is lovely Fiona- love the colour combination

I really like this Fiona, the limited palette works very well, super.

Fiona, one nice technique you can do with Bockingford to get texture on tree trunks or posts is with a damp No 8 brush , Press and drag the brush down the trunk or post and it will reveal bark texture, you may have to do it more than once. Better on darker elements. Hope this helps.

Thank you very much Rachel. David many thanks for your comment and tip. I did find with Bockingford is very easy to lift paint out….which has a nice effect done randomly.

I think this is really beautiful Fiona. Hope you have survived Dudly and are prepared for storm Eunice. Looks as if you will get the snow and we will get the gales.

You are too generous Carol, thank you. Yes Dudley has been and gone, to be honest it wasn’t as bad as some blows we get. The windows facing the estuary are thick with salt…lol. Looking forward to the snow! Hope you come out the other side of Eunice without too much damage Carol.

That's lovely and what a great view from your studio! May just have to try tinted paper now.

Thank you for your very kind comment Judith.

Thank you once again Aisling.

15”x8” watercolour and ink on blue tinted Bockingford. A cottage I can see across the back fields nestled in amongst the trees. The weather has been too bad to go out so I painted this from the studio window…..I haven’t included the rain sheeting down the windows! It was meant to be a light and airy watercolour…..I’m not familiar with the paper, that’s my excuse. Lol.
