I am no expert on Morandi but I do think this is beautiful Fiona - I love the interplay between the soft colours.

I really like it, Fiona. The shapes are Morandi and the set up. The thing which is different are the colours - yours are prettier, his are more “earthy”. But that’s ok, it’s your interpretation. I feel I want to do one now! Some years ago I set up “Morandi on the sideboard”. I remember I found it quite difficult.

Don't know Morandi, but I like this very much.

Flatter background … yes in my opinion, but an excellent representation of Morandi nonetheless!

Ps Fiona - mine is there still, in “Odds and Ends” - definitely my interpretation, not flat enough, which, as Alan says, is one of his characteristics.

I've just had a look at Morandi and I think this is a good representation, I like this very much and love the background colours.

Don't know Morandi Fiona but I know a very good still life when I see one.

These are really good Fiona, great shading and I like the subdued colours. Have been looking at vases, vessels and bowls myself for "dotty" drawings - I will look at Morandi.

Carol, Rachel and Richard…..many thanks for your lovely feedback. Richard, Morandi has some very good simple shapes, probably on purpose, so he could put all the attention into the shading. They would look great done ‘dotty’.

I'm not familiar with |Morandi so had to look him up.......I much prefer your version! Soft pastel colours and interesting shapes, very appealing.

Before doing this I had never heard of him either Val, I do like his work, some of it. His whole painting world seemed to revolve in his studio and the same objects. I think he only did a few landscapes. Thank you for your lovely comment.
