Interesting, varied marks in the foreground, Fiona. I think the combination of the marks and the colours is a bit Paul Nash. And I'm pleased I've been looking at the map to understand more about the location of your work. (Big grin emoji today.)

This is beautiful Fiona. I've been on the Lake District side looking over many times! I love your pure colours.

Like the soft colours and foreground marks, Fiona. (In case you missed it - it rapidly dropped out of sight in the forum - Dawn has issued the March forum challenge!)

A nice reflection from the pink sky and lake which looks altered from this view, maybe there are deposits of iron ore in the district which sheds the colour of reddish pink? Captured so well in pastel and charcoal, Fiona, the Lake district has many wonderous sites and inspires too!

Yes, some lovely mark making Fiona, the foreground in particular is delightful!

Love your very interesting marks and lovely pastel palette Fiona.

Many thanks for taking the time to comment everyone, always appreciate your feedback.

Thanks for that info Jenny, I’ll look it out.

Fascinating info and lovely colours and marks Fiona.

So individual, Fiona. Quite abstract in parts. Foreground colours are lovely.

Love the pastel tones Fiona.

Lovely soft colours and interesting foreground Fiona.

Diane, Marjorie, Stevan, Katy.....thank you very much for your generous input. Marjorie, added a few bits of semi abstracty stuff, I find myself doing that more and more these days.

Love how the pinks give life and warm up this desolate scene Fiona.

I like the spontaneity feel to this, Fiona, and I love colours and marks in the foreground.

Lovely soft colours and great foreground marks.

Carole, Ellen, Sandra....many thanks ladies, much appreciated.

Love the palette Fiona - great result.

Thanks Michael.

Great foreground- energetic use of line and colour Fiona.

Must be a lovely view!

Shaun and Linda, thank you for taking a look and commenting.

Sorry Linda, yes it is and so many opportunities.....which I don’t take full advantage of really.

17”x11” pastel and charcoal on Strathmore paper. On a very clear day, from certain locations on the Wigtown peninsula you can see the Lake district towards the south east. A winter sunrise turns the sea red across the Solway Firth.
