Ink Practice

I really like the spontaneity of this Fiona - energy and confident marks.

Love those clever lines and cute little houses with the light hitting them Fiona.

Your work always grabs my attention. I’d be very hate have that on my wall. The paper colour is lovely

Well I’m pleased to see that my article inspired you Fiona. A striking image! Perhaps a few too many highlights going on, nonetheless an excellent drawing.

Fiona this is great,. A couple of weeks ago you were not painting much, and all of a sudden you are back on form, and producing some really good work.

Beautiful painting, Fiona!

Very effective Fiona, I really like it.

Really like this Fiona - and perfect Galloway colours (missing Galloway at the moment!)

Very striking Fiona and great use of the tinted paper.

Really effective, the white against the tinted paper makes the painting zing.

Interesting and different and the marks in just the right places

Another nice one Fiona and as always a few marks tells a big story when you sit and look at it., nice one.

This is so striking Fiona, I hope you are going to frame it !!!

lovely work Fiona.

Lovely work Fiona, I can certainly see the 'Bickley' influence here.

Thanks ever so much for your encouraging words, I’m very grateful for your support and spurs me on no end. Not a patch on Alan’s superb ink work but I like the challenge and the opportunity to try something different. No Linda, not framed but it may find it’s way on to my recycling pile! Lol

The colours and effects that you have chosen to do work really well on this tinted paper.

Nice one, Fiona, lovely colours - looks good on the tinted paper. (I was also inspired by Alan’s article and hope to try something with the inks.)

Thank you Gudrun, it’s a bit of a mishmash but I like bits of it.....all practice! Have a go Jenny, you’re a natural so whatever you do it will be fabulous!

You always do contrast and tones perfectlyFiona. This is arty!

Thanks Mick, you’re very kind.

Love the slightly abstract quality of this piece, Fiona. It has an irresistible energy and calm that makes the whole painting sing.

Seok, thank you for your lovely feedback. I find I add a little bit of something different now and again, not sure if it’s the right way to go, or even if it works.

Very striking ! Lovely use of pastels.

12”x10” Indian ink, burnt sienna ink and gouache on Canson tinted paper. After reading Alan Bickley's article in The Artist I thought I would try something on tinted paper. An imaginary scene with a couple of Galloway cottages.
