16"x12" pastel on sugar paper. I'm rather fond of the bumble bee, I did this quick sketch from a photo I took of the Great Yellow Bumble Bee. Probably our rarest bee and can only be found in the Scottish Islands and in some small pockets along the north coast. I found this chap and many more, feeding amongst the Machar behind Strathnaver Museum. I haven't done it justice at all because it's a beautiful large bee and very fluffy, if you see one you will want to take it home with you and give it a name! lol It's also the 10th anniversary this year of the Bumble Bee Conservation Trust.
