This lovely butterfly was visiting the bramble hedge barely 2 yards from our front garden last week. Thankfully it was topping up on nutrients and stayed for quite a while, so I got some decent photos without scaring it off. I wanted to paint it inside a card for a friend in watercolour, but it was disastrous , as the card was like blotting paper.. so I swapped to Gouache.
