Rock Bottom

Beautifully painted!!

Looks lovely Fiona. I can imagine the sun and breeze, and watch the birds floating above.

Thank you very much David. Yes we can dream of warmer days, and drier days Tessa. Looks like you’ve had it pretty bad south of the border, I can’t imagine the stress of it. My sister was flooded just before Christmas.

Lovely picture Fiona.🙂

I love your nice light and lively washes Fiona

A vigorous and confident painting Fiona.

Very good. The rocks on the left don’t look dodgy, but I can see another of your hidden faces in the top one :-)

A lovely loose painting and you have captured the ruggedness of the rocks nicely.

Like it Fiona...quite different for you.

A very charming and effortless looking painting Fiona.

Lively and spontaneous. I'm so sorry to hear how bad your weather is. Here I'm crossing my fingers today for rain to save me having to water the garden again, plus my neighbour's garden.

There are some lovely washes in this Fiona.

Looks great Fiona, you have really captured the sunlight.

Once again you have made a really beautiful painting Fiona. Such a good compostion and simple but wonderful Washes.

Lovely rock formations and diluted colours too!

Love the translucent washes and loose style Fiona. At first glance I did see the foreground rocks as the bottom of a human if that’s what you mean?

You’ve handled this watercolour really well…lovely areas of fresh colours blending together, and no muddy washes to be seen!

Many thanks everyone for your generous comments! Yes Martin, the similarity to a human bottom struck me and inspired the title 😂 thank you.

Lovely loose watercolour, Fiona - bright and bracing!

Thank you very much Anne, appreciate your comment.

Quick watercolour sketch to see the new year in, taken from a photo I took when living in the Highlands……it was sunny! I had taken the photo of this before realising the rocks on the left look a little dodgy……
