Clearing Mist and Cloud by Fiona Phipps

Very atmospheric Fiona,

This is so good Fiona , very calm and gentle. I love greys and tend to use them a lot, I particularly like the foreground grasses etc

A tough subject, done exceptionally well.

There’s a softness about it, reminds me of newly fallen snow. Very nice, Fiona.

Lovely colours in this Fiona, I am a fan of grey.

Another beauty fiona and calm 🥰

Great mix for greys, excellent interpretation Fiona.

Andrew, Paul, Lewis, Marjorie….I hadn’t thought of it as snow but newly fallen snow would add to the quiet……Denise, Michael, Faye, Alan, thank you all very much for your lovely comments.

Lovely, especially the foreground grasses.

This is lovely Fiona.

Superb, love it!

Also reminds me of fresh snow - love the foreground grasses.

Moody and very effective!

So delicate and atmospheric, Fiona - the foreground grasses and the distant view are lovely!

Grateful thanks Diane, Sylvia, Heather, Jenny, David, Anne, Russell, Romila…..for your generous feedback.

This has a beautiful ethereal feel to it, Fiona. I love greys too.

Simple but soooo effective Fiona.

Love the pristine, atmospheric quality of this piece, Fiona. The composition is superb too!

Nice one Fiona,

Ellen, Val, Seok, David thank you, your kind words are very much appreciated.

Like the atmosphere here Fiona as the mist dissipates and one can sense and feel the slow movement as it rises and climbs to the summit, yes the grey shades and tones do work well and show tonal differences!

Many thanks Angela.

Super watercolour Fiona. I have found those colours can produce very atmospheric paintings

Two of my favourites colours David, in fact, I would bet that nearly every water colour I do has this combination. Thank you x

14”x12” watercolour and graphite on Saunders paper. Something a little calmer than my last posting. Most probably think grey an uninteresting colour but I find it a great mood colour. This grey is ultra marine blue deep and burnt umber ( both old Holland) there is the odd spot of raw sienna, so just the two colours for this one.
