A Load of Scrap Re-Jigged

Comments

These are truly great abstracts, Fiona, and I'm not just saying it. The engineering link is still apparent but only just, AND the mind can freely wander in other directions. Very noticeable. Bri

Brian thank you very much for your observations. It’s surprisingly difficult to take an object/scene and turn into something unrecognisable from the original item. Abstracts are not easy to do, for me anyway, take much more thinking about than my usual subjects. I do enjoy the challenge though.

I don't think I could re-jig like that !!! Looks more than interesting as a quartet !

I’m sure you could Richard. Once you get in to it, it’s just doodling really. I grouped them together because I didn’t want to bore everyone by posting them separately. Thank you very much for your comment.

Fiona these are superb, your drawing skill is excellent. Not easy to make it look arty but you have done it brilliantly.

Yes very stylish scrap terrific Fiona

I can feel your brain cogs working on this Fiona! What an interesting idea, look forward to seeing your painting.

Posh looking scrap Fiona! Might be worth something;)

I agree with Brian Fiona. This sort of exercise develops our observation and imagination skills. Fiona under control here for sure.

I must agree with Brian Fiona. Developing the observation and imagination skill. I do not know why but I and draw to the one in the top left hand corner, pure line work.

Thank you Paul, you are very kind. Many thanks Dennis! Tessa, you wouldn’t believe the sleepless nights I’ve had since this term began. I’m buzzing with inspiration and ideas, I can’t seem stop churning this scrap out! Do you think so Carole, might do a few more then....thank you. Thank you John. Yes it certainly concentrates the mind and stretches the imagination. That’s my favourite so far John, the one top left and I think that’s the design I will make my finished piece....or at least that’s what I’ll start with. What I end up with could be anyone’s guess. Lol.

Are these from one of your courses Fiona? I agree about abstracts, they are very difficult - top left one gets my vote too. A brilliant group!

Marjorie it’s some of this terms work of my usual Tuesday art class. I haven’t included much of it as it’s playing around ‘stuff’, that doesn’t make any sense on its own. Thanks very much for your interest.

Very precise drawings Fiona, all good, I don't know which I like the best!!!

Thank you very much Linda, just the one appeals to me....top left.

Great drawing in this abstract work Fiona.

Thanks Shaun!

Following on from my previous pastel, pencil and charcoal sketches of of the scrap car parts in art class. These are a few of the follow up sketches and ideas to transform them into abstract forms....fingers crossed. We’ve been concentrating on different ways to create textures and form in abstract compositions over the last couple of weeks. Bringing them all together to create one piece of abstract art from everything we’ve done this term. That’s the plan!
