Better Days!

I adore your mixed media work, it’s inspiring.

What a wild looking place, I like the grass Fiona and you choice of colours. I’ve never thought about mixing the different media as you do , I think my attempt would be a disaster you always seem to pull it off beautifully.

Love this Fiona, gorgeous pastel shades.

I love this Fiona.

Jacqueline, thank you, you are very kind. It’s a place that has been, and still is, being reclaimed by nature Paul. There are some lovely spots to get lost in. Carole thank you, I’m trying to lighten up a bit! Denise, thanks for commenting.

Love the "movement" in this painting!

I really like the effect of this, Fiona. I love the grasses.

I like the little touches of zingy colours in your work very much!

It looks wild and windy where you are, well captured in your picture.

Bright and breezy- lovely grasses and movement, Fiona!

It looks like a good breeze to lean into, Fiona. Your great at grasses -wonderful work.

Great wind blown grasses and lonely hut !!

Many thanks David, Ellen, Sarah, Lewis, Anne, Willie, Richard ....thank you all for taking a look, and your lovely comments. It is a breezy area, this peninsula is surrounded by sea!

Like this very much Fiona. Pleasing on the eye.

Love it Fiona, very breezy look, just how it is here today.

Your mark making is spot on as usual Fiona.

Thank you Chris, very kind. Same here Lesley! Thank you.

I must have just missed you George, thank you. I can very easily go over board with the mark making!

It’s got great atmosphere, Fiona. I think we’ve been here before, am I right?

Love the wild, natural abandonment of the place and how it is so animate. I can almost hear the wind Fiona.

This is great Fiona! So expressive. I love the energy in it and those soft colours. A marvellous combination of media and you really have the skill to put them all together successfully.

Thank you Michael, I would say they are numbered. It’s funny but some of the old buildings, although being taken over by trees, brambles and nettles, they still look sturdy. Most of the old site is protected by woodland and also a small plantation of sicta spruce. Marjorie, the atmosphere is so thick there you could slice it.....honestly, if you were of a delicate disposition you could feel quite uncomfortable. I love it down there! The nature reserve I help out on is part of this site, so I get about the place. Look up Carsegowan black powder factory on google there is a bit of info and a few photos. Thank you. You would have heard the wind today Carole, a 50mph westerly.....thank you for your lovely comment. Diane, you say the kindest things, I’m studying your work! Thank you.

Love this one Fiona

The wildness of this subject captured perfectly Fiona.

Love the pastel colours alongside the charcoal, Fiona, very effective.

That’ll make me a studio! Is there CH installed? Great subject and a lovely combination of pastel colours held together with the charcoal!

Lovely palette Fiona.

Romila, Shaun, Jenny, Bryan.......thank you all very much for your positive comments. Is it a tad on the small size for you Al, I doubt you will get all your gear in there! Thanks very much for your comment.

I like the grasses too, gives the sense that it is a really windswept place. Great colours too.

Many thanks Sandra.

I love the colours in this Fiona. I don't think that you did go overboard with the grassy bits, it all works well.

Thank you very much David for your positive feedback, much appreciated.

I do like this Fiona, missed it first time round. I like the grasses in the foreground very much!

Hi Katy, thank you very much. I tend to go over the top when I get lost in the grasses....lol.

16”x14” mixed media...acrylic, oil pastel, soft pastel and charcoal pencil on paper. There are one or two of these brick built sheds on the site of the old black powder site, at Carsegowan Moss, for storage most likely. I should have stopped long before I did with the grassy bits, totally carried away and over did it! Lol.
