Like that - very apt!

Looks gull like to me Fiona and I would be well pleased with it if it were mine.

Fantastic, love the textures.

Aww cute. Great use of left over paint. It's a lovely gull and love the way you have painted gull 🥰

Some gull are so large these days Fiona but this one looks relaxed and comfortable. Nice to see you divert from some of your ‘modern art’ for a change.

Definitely a gull Fiona , I also like the telegraph pole , excellent work.

Nice looking gull, he looks very comfortable. I try sketching gulls a lot and they are not easy, particularly the beak shape (same with ducks!) I think you've made a great job.

Looks brilliant to me Fiona, and you have achieved a perfect colour for the telegraph pole.

I love this Fiona, excellent.

A fabulous gull Fiona, and watching over too!

I’m so glad it’s a little recognisable at least! Looking at it again, it’s perhaps not the best photo. Thank you all for your lovely comments.

Ah, he's a very contented looking gull. The way he's positioned at the top of the solid looking pole with the uncluttered background makes for a good composition. Well done Fiona!

Fabulous Fiona - this would make a great card.

Nothing is sacred when the artist is around! That’s what his beady eye says…..2 hours? He was a very good sitter! I love it - especially the sun falling on him.

Lovely Fiona, he’s got his beady eye out for food! Love how you managed the metal bits on the pole.

Good work, Fiona - lovely textures particularly the softness of the feathers!

Thank you all very much Louise, Heather, Shaun, Marjorie….the treacle I put on the pole have helped…no, I took a photo. Carole and Anne….for your positive words.

Seagulls can be quite noisy aggresive ( when food is about ) birds but this one looks very laid back, friendly even and makes for a great painting.

Thank you Michael. His beak took a bit of tweaking, it kind of goes thicker at the end…..the eye wasn’t so easy either, especially as the photo was more than a wee bit blurry. Val thank you, appreciate your comment very much. Yes he looks quite content doesn’t he, different to the screeching squabbling birds they can be.

Lovely painting of a this seagull Fiona,

Thank you very much David!

A lovely Sea Gull Fiona, definitely not a duck, although if you live here everything/one can be called duk. Lol. Lovely oil painting with great details on the post.

Hi Lesley, lol I know what you mean, I’m from Derbyshire originally and I’m familiar with this term of endearment…awright me duk! Lol Thank you for your comment.

You’ve caught it beautifully and I like it very much.

I love this. The shadows on the white feathers are excellent

Rachel, Diana thank you ladies.

Small-ish oil. Having paint left from yesterdays class, I thought, I’ll do a quick sketch. Two hours later……. it took longer than I thought for a sketch! A Gull which was sat on top of the telegraph pole at the bottom of the garden. Okay, it looks more like a duck…..
