It's coming on lovely Fiona

Would love to see the finished piece Fiona. It's going to be lovely.

Good pastel work Fiona but your blue bottle seems to be leaning to the left. I know I've got no room to talk..my bottles are always leaning, especially after a few. lol

Glad to see you back with Still Life Fiona. Funnily enough, I was remembering your last SL paintings and wondering if you'd be going back to them. Reflections coming on well.

Thank you Dennis. Thanks Henry, I doubt it will be finished off.....always run out of time at the class and I don't have the same items to set up at home. It's only for practice really. Lol Louise.....I had to empty both the bottles before I could paint them! I'm surprised it's only leaning this much, hiccup! Hi Marjorie, winter terms are nearly always still life exercises and are made up of mainly fairly mundane objects, as in, it's not what we paint it's how we paint them. Any object is as good as the next...apparently! lol I've done a few but haven't bothered posting them. Thank you very much for your interest and encouragement Marjorie, appreciate it.

Oh Fiona half empty, but then again half full. You should have done it in your attracting, hit that surface mode then you would have finished it and it would be a real Fiona.

Thank you John! Yes it's a bit on the conservative side for me isn't it, I think it's down to me behaving myself in class...lol It's always too tight and formal when I'm being supervised!!

Lovely pastel work Fiona, I have some but not tried pastel as yet, wifey would complain about the dust. LOL

You must finish it looks to be really good!!!

I haven't tried using pastels but I love the textures you get with the blending . The reflections are impressive

Unfinished of course Fiona but has the making of an interesting piece, I am liking the composition very much, not traditional which appeals to me.

Lol....thanks David, yes pastel can be a bit dusty......blow it under the rug, works for me! Thank you Linda Diana, very much.

Thanks Alan, we have limited items to make up the compositions at the class, so they are never the traditional set up. In fact the pear at the right of the lemon was so soft it was falling to bits!

Hello Fiona, I love the luminous, clean quality of the pastel work here. The glass does look like glass and I'm looking forward to seeing the finished picture.

Great shading and composition Fiona.

The leaning tower of pear! Excellent colours. I'm sure we'll see more delights!

Are you planning to finish this Fiona? It amazes me how you can portray the 3Dness of the items with pastel on paper, and those reflections are so effective. Look forward to seeing the finished picture in due course. (By the way I have just replied to your E-mail).

Hi Sarah, thank you, I'm really taking to pastels...loved your 'after Dennis' one. Many thanks Margaret, Michael, Gudrun for your lovely comments. Hi Carol, got your email thanks......no I won't finish it, I do as much as I can in the time allowed, it's only for practice. I have lots of half finished paintings...lol Thank you Carol.

Great start Fiona, great palette too.

Thanks very much Carole!

Lovely range of colours in the bottles and reflections Fiona.

Thanks very much Val.

Great reflections, Fiona,!

24x16-ish pastel on sugar paper. New term of art class started a couple of weeks ago, so back to still life. This term is about composition.......
