Love the directional brushstrokes, which give the painting dynamism Fiona. It works beautifully with those lovely patches of blue showing through.

That’s a beauty Fiona. The palette, composition , and marks harmonise gloriously. I love the direction of the grass and tree marks in contrast with the clouds. Love the Sharp dark lines too.

12”x9” mixed media...... gouache, ink, soft pastel and conte crayon on primed mount board. I primed the mount board with a couple of coats of flat Matt Farrow & Ball duck egg blue emulsion. It’s a lovely surface for the gouache and wipes off easy to show the primed surface colour below. This is another part of the hedgerow that runs along the burn at the bottom of the garden, with the pasture fields behind and the red barns on the horizon.
