There's something wrong with this sit I commentef earlier but it never got to you Fiona . it happened with Andre as well.

Hi Dennis, nothing has come through to me, just this comment. I had a little trouble receiving notification of comments through to my email a few weeks ago, but it's all sorted out now.

The fruits stand well Fiona, keeping a bit of that light behind them really makes them 3D.

The fruit is fantastic, but the lilac cup is a dream! I can't wait for more.

Another very competent study Fiona, the play on light is good and so is the overall composition, You are really thinking about the subject and working methodically.

I think you have done ever so well with this exercise Fiona. As Gudrun already said the cup is delightful and the colours are nice and rich. Well done!
I have some troubles with opening the site and sending comments. They don't always go through.

A nice composition, always difficult with numerous shapes and sizes not to have tangents. The cup is terrific and great light, coming along really nicely Fiona.

Very good indeed Fiona , you've got a lovely sense of light into the painting .

Thank you very much everyone for your encouraging comments!

A very accomplished study Fiona, I can't wait to see what you produce this term.

Thanks Val, more of the same for next term I think but I do enjoy it!

Lovely tones Fiona.

I really like this, Fiona. It has a freshness to it and your palette is gorgeous. And I love the unfinished edges. I think it's done!

Thanks Sarah!
Seok, thank you. I rather like unfinished paintings....lol

oil 24"x16" This is as far as I got with this one which was the last session of last terms oil class. Carrying on in the idea of tones, this still life was set against the light and it was to demonstrate how to achieve the light to dark scale, which is much greater than from any other position. Very difficult to create darks of a colour and tone without getting mud. I won't finish this one, it's only an exercise. New term starts next week!!
