Looks pretty good to me Fiona- I would be proud of it cropped or not

Your trees are getting ever better Fiona, nice diffused look to the background. Could I just suggest either to cut the very short branches off at the trunk or lengthen them?

This is excellent Fiona. I am a great fan of repetition in a picture and I think the repetition of the tree, some of the brushstrokes and the colours brings unity to the painting. Also your previous picture of flowers Is lovely.

Pretty good for a warm up exercise, Fiona. Can't wait to see what happens when you really get going!

I agree with the above, Fiona, especially with Jane. This is very beautiful. Love the colours and the tree in the foreground.

Thank you all very much for your comments, they are very much appreciated. It's only about a week since I painted last, but I found myself hypmotised by that scary piece of white paper!!

Lovely painting Fiona - a warm up exercise, never, a beautiful painting!

Great exercise in economic, loose and flowing brushwork. The limited palette adds to this simplicity beautifully.

I agree with above. Your brush works are very natural. I like the colour very much.

Thank you Glennis, Thea and Midori for taking the time to look and comment.

A great warm uo excercise Fiona and a great piece of loose painting, like it a lot.

Fiona, this is really stunning! You've really outdone yourself - your brushwork and control of the washes are really, really superb. I am totally green with envy!

Graham, Seok....you are most generous with your lovely comments, thank you very much. It means a great deal coing from two such accomplished artists.

This is so nice. The scene as well as your brush work is very natural.

Many thanks Sarah.

This has a brilliant quality to it because its mostly light and airy with the only 'weighty' area the tree to the left - I'd like to a similar study to this with more space around the trees. Mind you I have no idea what this was a warm up study for!

I haven't done a painting for a while so I've done this one as a 'warm up' exercise, it's of nowhere in particular. There is quite a bit of the foreground and left hand side of the painting missing, due to scanning. I did take a picture of it but it's so dull and dreary here today I couldn't get a decent photo. It doesn't look too bad in it's cropped format.
