This turned out fabulous Paul and like the loose effect of the castle on the hill with the rowing boat and smaller craft moored on the sand. Nice painting and looks great!

Very well done Paul 🙂

Love that place - you’ve captured it really well

Nice one Paul - Northumberland is popular on here at the moment! I had a reaction too after the Covid jab a couple of weeks ago - had to go to bed. Still grateful though that I was offered it.

There’s something about the shape of a dinghy like that, looks simple but is quite tricky to get right but you’ve done it really well and convincingly. A very pleasing painting.

Great composition and lovely painting Paul.

I agree with Tessa about boats, hard to do, and you've done it, and the whole painting well!

Nice one Dixie.

Crikey Paul, that sounds dreadful… I had my booster last week with absolutely no side effects! Anyway, a good little watercolour with an excellent boat!

Thank you all for your very kind comments, I honestly was thinking of binning this painting, but I’m a Yorkshireman and we don’t let out go . Alan I haven’t felt so bad for a very long time at one point the doctor thought of hospitalising me as breathing was getting difficult, but definitely on the mend now.

Does it for me Paul. Nice going.

Like this one, the boat is excellent. !!

The boat is excellent, and well done for keeping going when you felt so bad.

Just about my wife’s favourite place and you’ve done it justice

This is absolutely wonderful Paul. Such a great painting!

Lovely painting, Paul!

Thank you all for your very kind comments, I did not expect such a positive response from you all.

You and I are great fans of Lindisfarne Paul. I’ve painted here many times. You’ve captured the harbour area and beautiful castle rising really well.

Thank you Julie I appreciate your lovely comment .

A4 watercolour, I started this while under the adverse effects of a covid vaccine I honestly had no idea what to paint and due to shaking hand and double vision etc thought about giving it up . It was like watching someone else paint I felt so out of it but as I hadn’t done anything for a while I was determined to do a painting. Done on auto pilot I your there is another I did the same week. Certainly not something to try again.

About the Artist
Paul (Dixie) Dean

I have sketched most of my life on and off I became interested in watercolour following a spinal injury whilst in hospital but did not follow it up. My eldest daughter bought me a beautiful wooden box set of half pans about twenty five years ago I dabbled on and off until retirement twelve years…
