A real beauty, Paul!!

Love those trees and the bleakness of the scene, with an impending storm. Super work Paul.

A lovely painting and enjoyed the back story too, great work.

Nice wintery evening colours. Fits you story well, Paul!

Lovely colours in this wonderful scene Paul.

Thank you Tanja, Carole, John and Denise I appreciate your comments. I did enjoy painting this it’s quite loose, well for me anyway , those washes in the background just seem to have developed on there own .

Lovely painting, Paul.

Very well painted Paul

One of your best Paul. Really like the diagonal composition and soft colours. And did enjoy your story about Brewings farm.

Lovely scene Dixie and the little lit windows make the farmhouse appear cosy and welcoming.

Some wonderful colours and plenty of implied movement in the clouds, chimney smoke and sheep.

Thank you all for the kind comments. I did enjoy doing this and will definitely do something similar again , but without the memory link .

What a lovely story to back up this good painting Paul

Nice work Paul, your tonal balance is perfect with that dark foreground!

Thanks Martin and Alan . I did think it needed that dark , heavy foreground to brink it together, seemed as if the hills were floating with a lighter one .

Love the colour palette, Paul!

I love the painting and the memories and sentiment behind it.

This is top draw Paul with a great story behind it, this painting has a great feeling to it. Well painted Paul.👌🙏

A4 watercolour in A3 mount , an imaginary scene used a photo for the building as reference but changed it quite a bit, inspired by memories of being in the hill as part of a rescue team. One farm where we parked the vehicle the farmer always said, “ it’s brewing up there lads , aye it brewing and gona be a bad bugger too” . He always had a brew ready when we came down , nicknamed it Brewings farm . It was often dark down in the valley but bright up top , very deceptive as it look so welcoming.
