A gem of a painting Paul. The colours have worked so well. Love how you have depicted the ivy.

That is a truly beautiful painting, Paul - just love the detail on and of the trees!

Very appealing composition. And further proof that less (limited palette, one brush) is more.

A good challenge and a great result. Perfect beech colours!

Superb Paul

Love it Paul… it is coming out as mono on my iPhone, but the tones all look good. Personally, I wouldn’t limit myself to just a rigger, I’d generally pair it with a size 6 Round… nice work!

Thumbs up from me Paul.

Thanks everyone for the most kind comments they are appreciated. It come out a bit more mono than it actually is Alan , I would normally use a of different size brushes , decided to challenge myself even more. Just get out of the can’t be bothered mood and doing this has helped to fire up my enthusiasm and imagination.

Adding the ivy is great. There is so much of it around me. The foreground and background trees are excellent

... and what can be done is very good indeed Paul

Classic beech tree - wonderful trees to paint, they sort of compose themselves... It has come out as rather mono, but then, I like it like this... you used just the rigger; I've been doing the same but different: as it were - using a painting knife with acrylic to get me going again: and what a struggle it's been, but, as with you and the rigger, worth doing; whatever gets the wheels back in motion.

An imposing view with those wonderful trees. Super work Paul.

Lovely work Paul.

Excellent work Paul

The work you are producing just now is so good, love this one !!

Thank you for all your kind comments, I’m honestly surprised that it’s been received so well. Keep at it Robert , sometimes we need to work at something to get the motivation going and kick the doldrums up the preverbal butt( polite version) .

Excellent artwork Paul.

Those trees are awesome! Love this

The limited palette has worked well, Paul - excellent trees too!

Thank you Stephen, Federico and Anne for you most kind comments.

This shows as completely monotone to me Dixie which is a shame as I would be interested to see the colours you have used. Just have to use my imagination! It does have a lovely wintry look.

Thanks Tessa , I think the problem is with my depth of colour the purple and blue were mixed for shade in the snow but I think I mixed and added it far to thin , hence the reason it looks more monochromatic. I’m still pleased with the finished piece, I do tend to work with thinnish paint sometimes.

Lovely work Paul, like the others, I wish I could see the colours more but you've done remarkably well with just using a rigger.

Lovely trees, looks great

Very good composition Paul. Great trees! Monotone for me too unfortunately but I’ve set my imagination to work.

Romila and Marjorie thank you for you comments. I think it’s because I used very thin paint and it’s confusing the camera, the painting show a slight purple colour in the lane and shadows etc .

A4 watercolour landscape painted using a rigger only and four colours, Payne’s grey, Indigo, Purple and Cerulean blue. Just fancied the challenge , love using the rigger very versatile using the side for washes etc but takes a bit longer to achieve. Ot really aimed or a perfect finish just wanted to see what could e done .
