Fab watercolour Paul, super detail

Love the cranes Paul, they add vertical interest as well as having the horizontals of the boats.

Another good painting Paul with very good detail.

Great details, excellent

Your passion shows in your paintings Paul, great detail.

Super painting, Dixie, with great detail of the working dock. The cranes add so much to the realism. Bri

Thank you Katy and Brian for you comments they are appreciated. I agree about putting the cranes in Brian , they give hight to the scene and extend the clutter up into the skyline. I have looked at hundred of old dock land photos band I’m still amazed at the amount of cranes etc on the dock and skyline .

Wow - this is really good!!

Great, I can still smell the ozone and hear the seagulls. Fine work Paul.

Thank you for you comment David it is much appreciated.

Many thanks Jim , it’s surprising how memories are triggered by paintings and photos . So many every day scenes have been lost due not people thinking they were not important or interesting enough.

Brilliant Paul, you are so good at painting these dockland scenes!!

Brilliantly portrayed Paul, great times.

Thank you Linda and Carole for your kind comments. I don’t know about you Linda but I think we paint better when we have a good feel for the subject matter. You are right Carole there were some good time in the 1960s particularly as a teenager when you thought the world was yours.

Let times get back alive, and if it is only for the time of painting, well done Paul!

Thank you Mark and Eknim for you kind comments. You are correct Eknim when painting these old scenes it does feel like you are putting like into them .

24x32 cm watercolour. Set in 1962 when London was still one of the busiest ports in the world . Hundreds of ships would come from all over the works and take British made goods away to others countries. My passion is the old ship and dockside equipment.
