The misty effect is excellent, great picture Paul.

I like how you have achieved the mistiness Paul. Great little painting.

That does work, Paul!! I might give that a try too, if you do not mind!!

Thank you Stephen,Carole and David for your kind comments. Go ahead David I think part of sharing information on our paintings is to enable people to see what is achieved and learn from them, looking forward to seeing what you do.

Works well... you can use the technique in oils with a blender too, good over distant trees etc.

Can almost hear the ships hooting Paul, great atmosphere.

A great scene there Dixie. I did one of those monkeys in the hot springs in Japan, and found white watercolour worked quite well too.

Thank you Carole and Rod I appreciate your comments. I usually use watercolour, but it has the tendency to pick up the colour from underneath it, that’s partially why I wanted to use pastel, I did one similar a while ago but that one was pen and pastel.

Very effective misty scene Paul.

A lovely softness about it.

Love the fog effect.

We learn through experiment and play. Without doing that we would never know how to get our style or what we like. I think this works very well and you captured the foggy look you wanted.

Thank you Sandra and Jen I appreciate you comments.

A lovely misty effect with this one, Dixie.

Watercolour, pen sketch , overlay of grey and white pastel to get a foggy finish, not sure it’s work that well . Started as a pen and wash then I decided to do something a bit different, just added the pastel, I quite like it and night try again now I know it will work .
