Glass in the Belfast

Superb painting, the glass looks superb.

Ooh I do love your kitchen sink dramas Diana :) superb limited palette with great range of tones.

Love the interesting angles and the unusual perspective here. The limited palette is so effective and this is another stunning painting of yours Diana.

Really like the almost monochrome effect, Diana. Agree with you about Saunders Waterford paper, I use their heaviest weight and it does take a lot of rough treatment!

Another beauty Dina, no-one does glass better than you.

Wonderful glass, highlights and shadows:subtle and intimate colours and tonal range! Great!

Incredible work Diana, an element of realism combined with perhaps abstract!

Fantastic, so realistic while still having character....

Perfect Diana just perfect

Awesome work - a master of tonality.

Wonderful mastery of light and shade Diana. Beautiful.

A fabulous piece of work. I like how you can successfully merge realism with looser passages.

Great title Diana, oh and the paintings rather good too! Brilliantly done.

Absolutely fantastic...such a great mix of abstracted realism!!!!

Another of your lovely works, making the ordinary exciting.

Thank you Paul. I’m delighted you think so. Hello Carole, I love a limited palette and just wondering what to paint next. That’s very generous Stephen. Thank you. Thank you Russell. Glad you like it. I’ve had a few ups and downs with this one. Thank you so much Carole. I was surprised at the depth of those shadows in a white sink. Hello Jenny and thanks. I use the heaviest weight too. I’m too lazy to stretch it and have used lifting and scrubbing out a lot lately. I like the softer highlights it creates. Thank you Heather. I’m on the lookout for more glass subjects! Hi Kevin and thanks. I loved reading your description Alan, good to hear from you. I agree, there is a semi abstract feel to this. Thank you Dorothea. I’m pleased with Your description. Just what I hoped to achieve. Thank you Dennis. You’re very generous. Thank you Ceri. I really like painting in monochrome almost monochrome because tonal variation needs observing so carefully. Thank you Jim. I really appreciate your ongoing support. Glad you like it. Thank you Lewis, that’s exactly what I was hoping to achieve. Thanks Tessa, Im not very imaginative with titles. I do love my sink though. Thank you Thalia. That mixture is exactly what I was aiming for. That’s lovely to read a Stephen. Thank you and pleased you think so.

Another "wowser." Brilliant work of glass and reflective light.

Diana, you’re brilliant! There is so much to study in this amazing painting.

All round brilliant Diana

Thank you for comment on Ethels night out😂😂 I don't know how you have the patience & skill for your artwork...but you must enjoy doing all those reflections & highlights....I'll look @ the glass wear that comes out of the dishwasher in a new light in future Diana 😀😅😆

Absolutely gorgeous, superb.

Wow, what can I say, just wow 👌

I’d know your work anywhere Diana it’s fabulous

Thank you Fred. I’m thrilled to receive such feedback. Morning Fiona. Thank you. I really thought I’d scrubbed and scraped too much but it’s added texture! Thank you Dennis. Good to hear from you. Thank you very much Darragh. Much appreciated. Morning Les. I have a certain amount of patience, then lose it after a bit...hence the large looser areas 😂 Thank you so much Romila. Lovely and motivating to read such motivating comments. Thank you Tracy. There is something very pleasing to the eye about strong tonal contrasts. Thank you Dermot. It’s a beginners ambition to have a recognisable style , Soto have achieved that is very fulfilling. Just as your skies and beautiful water washes /silhouettes etc are ‘Dermot’

Not only well painted but a super composition Diana

Loving the limited palette and great paint handling! Really arresting composition.

Glass & chrome in a way that only you can render it Diana. Extremely accurate but not in a photo realistic way. This is much more painterly. Excellent.

Thank you John. These comments are so encouraging. Thank you Gudrun , Brian and Guy. Your comments are very flattering and exactly what I was hoping to achieve. Much appreciated!!

Great work!

Half sheet watercolour. I have been very adventurous with the foreground of this one. It has spatter, printing with screwed up paper , scrubbing out, spraying , scratching ..Saunders Waterford is very resilient!
