Beautifully subtle tones and such convincing reflections of light. Love the title too

Should’ve added welcome back Diana. Good to hear you’re painting again

Glad to see you and your wonderful work back x

Lovely to see your work back on the gallery again Diana. Subtle muted tones and a great title.

Your enforced break hasn't diminished your skill and talent Diana, this is fabulous.

Delicately done Diana. A real touch of class, but Iwould expect nothing less. Lovely.

Welcome back Diana. A lovely painting.

Diana, that must have been so painful - and a long time needed to recover from. Glad you’re on the mend! A lovely painting, seemingly simple but only so in the right hands. Beautiful subtle colours and filled with light.

So glad you’re able to paint again Diana. I understand broken ribs to be extremely painful! Lovely to see your superb work again.

It's fabulous Diana and so glad to see you back - so sorry to hear about your fall.

Thank you Martin. I rarely have any ideas for painting titles. This one was easy 😂 Thank you for the welcome. Thank you Collette. I’ve dabbled a bit recently but this is the first painting I’ve actually taken seriously. Thank you Christine. I really loved the subtle colours within the white. Thanks Russell. I needed a few warm up sessions. You know the saying … if you don’t use it , you lose it 😂 That’s kind of you Jim. A great exercise in observation. Thank you Lynda. I felt satisfied with a lot if this one. There is one poor area.. isn’t there always! Thank you Spencer. Lovely to hear from you. Thank you Marjorie. I was surprised just how long it took. I thought it was ridiculous when they told me 6-12 weeks. Anyway, thank goodness for healing!! I loved this subject with a variety of gentle warm and cool colours. Thank you Tessa. It’s certainly made me more careful!!

Beautifully painted, Diana. Sorry to hear about your fall, wondered why we hadn’t seen any of your work recently.

Thank you Heather. I look forward to the light being good enough to take a photograph of its true colour. That’s lovely Coral. I certainly hope to. Thank you Jenny. I really need to look where I’m putting my feet! Thank you Paul. I just couldn’t get a photo of it without it looking grubby. It’s so difficult to photograph white paper.

Beautifully delicate. Great work Diana.

Glad to see you are painting once again. I hope you make a solid recovery! I do love the idea of this effective watercolour.

Very effective Diana. I love the cat's ears! Looking forward to seeing more of your work.

A beauty and that shadow says a lot Diana.

Those cups look so delicate and I love the title. Beautiful work as ever.

Fantastic work as ever, Diana. Simple yet beautiful. Love it! Had no idea you had been unwell. I hope you are back on top form again soon.xx

Up to your absolute brilliant standard, as always, Diana! Stunning!!!

Splendid work Diana, certainly no lack of talent after your enforced break ( sorry no pun intended). Hope you're well on the road to recovery now.

Beautifully painted and the "cat" was a surprise!

Both yourself and your work have been missed from the site Diana. Always an example of skill with watercolour and your splendid talent! Keep safe.

Thank you Denise. It was a case of being brave in parts to add colours. Thank you Chris. I’m loads better now. Thank you Fiona. It’s a strange shadow isn’t it. Thank you Jon. It’s actually more difficult than I expected to paint white China 😂 Thank you Ellen . I’m so pleased that you think they look delicate. Thank you Jennifer. I’m much improved now and appreciate your message. Thank you Val. I’m feeling so much better and lovely to hear from you. Thanks Bill. I really loved the white/ grey shades and values. Thank you Anne. That shadow is bizarre. Thank you Fiona. That’s a lovely message. I popped into the gallery and am always delighted to see the passion and skill illustrated

You make such delicate, translucent washes which are magical Diana.

That’s a wonderful compliment Sarah. Thank you

In early June I had a fall and broke my ribs resulting in no painting for a while. As the weeks went on, I lost the desire to push through the discomfort and my confidence suffered. The last two weeks have seen a return to my painting table This is watercolour painted on a half imperial piece of heavy paper though I have cropped it for better composition
