Simply done , beautiful look , I look at these lovely pieces for ages as it’s so easy to get absorbed and see so much that isn’t actually there. A story of many word reduced to a one page scene , like all good paintings, sketch it tell the story and then some .

Dixie has summed up very well these excellent sketches. You’re on a roll Alan

Excellent drawing.

Hilder would have been delighted to see this, Alan, it's so true to his superb sketching style

Excellent Alan.

I love all your sketches; you have a very distinctive style.

Another beauty, they keep coming 🥰

Another masterclass Alan

I do like your tonal values, Alan. It maybe loosely based on a Roland Hilder, but it still has your signature style, which is unmistakable.

Yes, I would recognise your style anywhere Alan. Hilder revamped.

I’ve got this painting of yours Al, if not, it’s very similar. It was for Jules’ birthday.

Great sketch!

Strathmore toned grey paper with pens and markers in my sketchbook. Based on an oil painting I did way back before joining this website, so I’ve worked from my original sketches which I always keep. In the process of painting another oil on a similar theme, only more industrial! Loosely based on a Rowland Hilder painting.
