Wonderful sketch Alan.

Excellent sketching, hint of colour has great effect.

Super sketch Alan.

Beautifully done Alan, tat but of colour adds so much . I agree old buildings are so fascinating and make excellent subjects for sketches etc.

Love the bluey grey tones Alan and the touch of red- really brings it to life!

Thanks guys! Not a great photo because it’s a bit dark and the paper looks blue, it’s actually grey!

Those deep shadows work really well and I like the touch of colour

Another fab sketch, Alan!!

Love the little touches of colour !!

Beautiful little scene Alan and I like the way you’ve portrayed the sunshine falling across the yard and buildings

Super example Alan.

Love the light and shadows here Alan.

Such a lovely scene Alan! The foreground is very effective.

Another excellent sketch.

Another good one!

Excellent sketch!

Great sketch, love the shadows.

This is lovely, specially with the addition of a bit of colour.

Fab composition and the shadows and colour really give the sketch lot of life

Gorgeous sketch as usual, but how do you find the bright sunshine to cast those strong shadows?

Thanks guys much appreciated as always! Linda, if they aren’t there at the scene, I invent or exaggerate them. Otherwise I’m left with a line drawing without depth… think artists license!

Beautifully sketched Alan.

Especially love those dark mysterious shade plains, Alan

One of my favourite things to draw, I find old architecture fascinating, and I’m usually able to observe and block in those all-important deep shadows that gives the viewer the illusion of being three-dimensional - even on a little sketch this is important for me. Strathmore toned grey sketchbook, pen and watercolour.
