I do like this Alan and it’s really well drawn , the earth colour adds so much to the look .

Love how you have simplified the buildings by portraying just enough detail to achieve optimum effectiveness Alan. A beautiful drawing.

You manage to create interest and entertainment from the most mundane areas Alan. Surely an art in itself.

Really well drawn and the colours add depth to the picture 😊

Agree with Paul, another v good one

I think this looks very stylish Alan. Lovely work.

Great Alan as usual The effect of just the right amount of color captures ur eyes Like it

Very impressive, Alan.

Great comments guys, I thank everyone for the time and effort made!

I like the way the outer areas stay 'unfinished', and with little detail, and also the limited use of colour - all creating impact in the central area. Full of drama and atmosphere.

Another lovely pen and wash, Alan. I like this style.

I like your unfussy take/style of the buildings Alan, yet always something there that describes the splendour. I’ve turned my nose up at marker pens in the past to be honest, but seeing your effective way of using them, especially the earthy colours, I’ve been swayed.

I like the suggestion of the architecture, the brain fills in the rest, also the effective use of the limited pallete.

I like ‘loose’ Alan. This is quality!

A beauty lovely composition as always 💖

Thanks again guys! Appreciated and I see that there’s a new face that’s commented!

Another excellent piece Alan. You're spot on when you mention Sorrola and his influence on me, a true mater of light and shade. Another great influence has been John Singer Sargent, especially his Watercolours of Venice.

I love the looseness of this, Alan. To me it doesn’t matter if it’s not accurate, it’s pleasing to the eye and it stands out for me. Fabulous.

This is all the better for being "loose and not particularly accurate". It has that indefinable quality - atmosphere!

Indian Ink & Marker Pen - My rather loose and not particularly accurate impression from my own reference photo. Ink and W&N Promarker pens which I’ve just added a hint of muted earth colour to the buildings. Hahnemuhle A3 Hemp 80g Eco paper. Quite thin paper but it did take the coloured pens without any issues.
