I like the low viewpoint and am impressed with your rigging. Good to see the variety of mark-making too. Does the Bamboo paper suck up the ink quickly?

Superb , one of my favourite subjects and you always make a great gob of painting them. The paper sound interesting, must keep my eye open for your report.

Thanks Linda and Paul… no date set as yet for publication Paul. Linda… not particularly I’d have to say, but the ink flows cleanly across the surface. I’m still experimenting with all this, but I would recommend it, albeit I generally prefer a heavier weight paper!

I love these monochromes Alan.

This is excellent Alan and I really like the way you've handled all that rigging

This looks great Alan and looking forward to the article.

Another little beauty 😍

Works for me Alan. Sail-boats usually do. (-:

Fabulous work Alan I'm enjoying the loose and free style you are using very much.

Superb drawing Alan- love it!

Wow, this is super, Alan. Love the way you suggested the reflections.

Well I certainly go go artist interpretation. Really like this. Th sky is so effective

Superb image. The pen work on the water is lovely.

I like the point of view and the loose style. Great work.

So very effective with a limited colour palette, Alan. An immense amount of detail in the boats.

Who couldn’t love this group of wonderful boats Alan……super sketch.

This is really impressive Alan, I love it!

I agree about Alan that accuracy should play second fiddle to artistic interpretation as you have beautifully demonstrated here. I think it is excellent.

Rigger brush and Indian ink, as usual in my direct ‘gung-ho’ style of drawing - accuracy playing second fiddle to artistic interpretation. Hahnemuhle 105g A4 Bamboo Sketch pad. I’m currently testing out a range of eco friendly products from this well established company, for a later series in The Artist magazine. So far, I’m rather impressed, I hope they introduce a range of tinted papers! I have used a bit of 2B carbon pencil also!
