Very interesting, Alan - look forward to your future series on using eco drawing papers!

Wow, Alan. This is a real eye-catcher. Super!

This is superb Alan , I often look at old photos of industrial buildings and the hundred of these that feature is amazing, sadly now gone . The colours you have used are excellent and give the bricks that old patina caused by age , weather and the environment.

Super work Alan, love the texture you have created.

Lovely, old fashioned feel Alan.

Love the colours you have achieved in those old bricks Alan.

Beautifully done, Alan - I do like the gentle light and the colours!

Thanks guys, appreciated! I have used a fair bit of my own imagination with the layout of the buildings and kilns etc,

Great shapes and colour Alan which you have emphasised brilliantly with your choice and use of mediums

Super work, Alan, love the colours, and such an interesting subject.

Superb picture Alan,

Super Great color rendition

Very nicely done Alan

This is really good Alan, I used to live near one in Fulham London

Super work Alan. (It often strikes me that it's fitting that some of these old kilns look like many of the pots that come out of them.)

Great reminder of our industrial history.

Lovely group, Alan and you've caught the character of the structures - I like it a lot.

Your good choice of colours has captured the mood of the scene.

Lovely nostalgic topic Alan, a bit like the old gasworks tanks of our childhood, now mainly long gone. Lovely painting.

Beautiful textures and detail. 🙂

Lovely, such interesting shapes.

This is a beauty Alan. Love the textures and colours. I’m a great fan of mixed media but haven’t really had a lot of success in my attempts

Really like your shadows and the sketchiness around the ages of the main building

Stunning Alan.

A beautiful painting Alan. I really like the marks and texture throughout; the colours, and the way you have applied the ink is super.

Lovely work .

Well that was very encouraging, so many positive comments, I’m amazed and really appreciate every one! Thank you…

This is exceptional Alan - I love the subject- my father was from the Potteries.

Terrific Alan, a wonderful depiction of these wonderful buildings. You’ve breathed life in to them.

Only just seen this one Alan, a beauty! Love the colours, drawing, light and shadow- you’ve brought a beautiful old building to life.

Just realised I hadn’t commented on this and now it’s all been said! Superb, and what a wonderful building.

Not many of these remaining now. These historic industrial icons of a bygone era have all been demolished, just a couple of them remain, the Gladstone Pottery Museum being one. Rigger brush and Indian ink, with some pastel and gouache. Hahnemuhle 105g A4 Bamboo Sketch pad A3. I’m currently testing out a range of eco friendly products from this well established company, for a future series on eco drawing papers, no publication date as yet!
