Blustery Day on the Coast

Looking at this on my mobile so am having to expand picture, my laptop gave up on me, but the different effects look really good, also the little splashes of red add just enough relief from the blues. Love the sky, you have captured the blustery conditions well, like it 👍😀

Really like this Alan - those splashes of bright colours on the sails and a little elsewhere work a treat

Feel the bluster there Alan, can even hear the seagulls milling about! Fantastic!

Super mark making is what I call it Alan. It all works together beautifully.

Certainly get the feeling of a blustery day Alan. Love the way the seagulls are in rhythm with the swirling sky. The diminished detail and the bright splashes of colour add life and vigour to this lovely painting.

Wonderfully loose and expressive.

Wonderfully French impressionist style Alan. Love it.

Great work, Alan.

You’ve certainly captured the blusteriness ... if that’s a word!

Bright with excellent effects.

Lovely work as always Alan.

It does what it says in the title Alan, brilliant painting. Many a blustery day spent at the coast when my children were young pretending it was warmer than it actually was and encouraging them to 'come into the water it's fine!' Superb Alan.

The layering and knife work in the sky does add to the blustery effect very well Alan, and a lovely selection of colours attained from your Jacksons oils.

Lovely windy scene, Alan! Loads of life and movement.

You've really captured the energy of the scene - the movement, the windswept clouds and the moving tide. Excellent as usual, Alan!

Good stuff Alan, looking forward to the Jackson oil paint review.

I can almost hear the blustery wind and the seagulls - amazing

Full of energy and atmosphere Alan, some beautiful marks in the sky and sea.

This is fantastic, love the use of the thick paint in the Sky and the lovely Blues

I’m looking at this work through different eyes now! I can identify different techniques which have been used effectively. I love the activity and colours of the boat sails.

This just oozes life and movement Alan....from the bristling clouds to the choppy sea. Jules likes this one!

Love the brush strokes Alan. The larger marks in the sky contrasting with the smaller energetic and stronger colour in the foreground.

Gorgeous painting

This is such a lively painting Alan. I like the semi abstract approach particularly and your choice of colours. Just lovely.

This one is very smashing painting, Alan, superb work!

Great response which was totally unexpected! I wasn’t overly excited about it myself - just goes to show how much I know! Thanks everyone...

Lively work Alan, lots of implied detail to enjoy here.

Just love this, Alan! Beautiful range of blues in that blustery sky. Colours are great, with those touches of red and orange.

A cracker Alan and definitely one of my favourites . Well done Alan.

Wonderful atmosphere you can feel the weather in this painting. Beautiful contrast in the blues and hint of red. Well done Alan.

Lovely Alan. Really like the texture.

Just catching up and think this is great.

Thanks again to you all, I’ve made a few improvements since posting it, and it will appear in my Jackson’s test report in the November edition.

Love the vibrant colour and immediacy of this painting.

Catching up! Love the clouds - excellent as ever.

Like the others I love the touches of colour, and the sky is stunning.

Still testing out the Jackson’s Artist range of oil paints. I’ve layered some areas of paint fairly thickly in this painting, particularly in the sky area with a knife, plus some scumbling and dry brush work will also be evident. Oil on canvas board, 40 x 50cm.
