Wonderful as ever Lewis.

Nice to meet you Lewis - more wonderful characteers

Terrific idea and a great picture Lewis.

So which one is you Lew!? Only joking, and yes different is good. If we don’t try at least now and then, we will never know what else we can produce. As you know I’ve been having a stab at a very different style, and find it quite exciting if a bit fiddly! Keep experimenting. I’m impatient and often start something that gets binned quite quickly, but am having fun trying. X

So good to meet you Lewis and see you don't have a big nose buck teeth gobstopper eyes like the rest of us! 😅

Interesting, Lewis. Have you drawn yourself looking through a mirror…..at a photo…

Thanks for your comments, very much appreciated. Yes it's good to try different things Tessa, so I'll be giving it a go. You're right Chris, I've left out my big blue nose, and 137 wrinkles...artistic license I call it.

I think cartoonists have a really special gift Lewis, of course I am including you there! You have a great imagination, and to people like me who just see and attempt to interpret, it's a wonderous thing. Look forward to seeing what you come up with.

Marjorie...I took the easy route and copied from a selfie I took on my phone. I don't really like copying much, it's too fiddly and restricting. That's why I bang out cartoons, which are completely the opposite.

Love all the different characters!!

Wonderful Lewis and it's fun and challenging trying new stuff.

Good to meet you Lewis. Great portrait. I love variety so I’m always trying something different but it often ends in the bin. It’s fun trying though

Marvellous bunch, wonderful.

Well Lew , your certainly in the right place in the middle of all your superb creations. The man I see in the middle has a caring, thoughtful look and I think it part of your abilities to create your wonderful characters , you see people not just the outside .

I was going to say, super but which one is you but I see Tessa has beaten me to it. Obviously not the lady in the front, nor the chap on the left as you say you left out the blue nose but you didn't actually say which one is you.

Fabulous Lewis! And nice to meet you 😊

Nice to meet you Lewis. Good to put a face to a name. Presumably you’re the one in the middle.

Amazing work Lewis 😍

Greetings Lewis, the artwork is excellent as usual 😊

Nice to see you Lewis and your characters are great as usual

Love the selfie, surrounded by more of your great characters.

Another great one Lew. Love the sweater.

Great stuff Lew. All great characters.

Nice to meet you Lewis - at least a version of you! Brilliant drawings as usual! Keep them coming!

Lovely to meet you Lewis with some of your companions. You look so very normal and not at all like your extravagant characters. Love your inventiveness and the range of your characters.

A super selfie Lewis. You are surrounded by some great (dodgy) characters.

Love the way that you have surrounded yourself with some of your characters. What a great painting

It wouldn’t matter what “new” thing you tried out Lewis, it would be brilliant.

I'm sure I left a comment Lewis but it seems to have disappeared into the ether. I love the self portrait especially.

Great to see you, Lewis, surrounded by these characters - great faces especially the one in the middle.

Wonderful!

I really admire their expressive faces!!

I seem to have done mostly cartoony stuff lately. Wanted to try something different...SLIGHTLY different...I 've taken one step sideways and one step back. Originally there was just going to be a cartoon on the front of the sweater. Changed my mind. Really must do something that's actually different.

About the Artist

Self taught. Love drawing. Like to make pictures up, without using reference pics, often in cartoon style. I do other pictures where I do use reference. I'm knocking on a bit, born in 1940 in Greenwich, London. Retired, and loving it.
