very effective , Lewis , has the smug look of a politician. The back ground does contribute as a total contrast to the figure and I think it is a good balance.

You have an extraordinary gallery Lewis and your drawing skill is out of this world!

Thank you for your comments Mike and Satu. Mike, I don't think politicians have anything to feel smug about now...but I guess some still are. Thank you Satu for your generous comment about my gallery.

Brilliant as usual Lewis. The background is unimportant here as all our attention goes to Mr Smugness.

A great character painting Lewis, although his coat is making my eyes a little dazzled this morning, hope I don't get a migraine 😂😂😂

Brilliant Lewis! Like Mike, he reminds me of politicians past and present!

Fabulous artwork.like these comical paintings it brightens up a cold day

Terrific Lew. Chairman of the amateur dramatic society without a doubt. Great work on the stripes and colours.

Smug indeed, brilliantly captured Lewis. I agree wholeheartedly with Satu's comment about your drawing skills too.

Thanks again to all who've commented, your feedback is always welcome and encouraging.

Ah ah reminds me of Mr Portillo :) a great image Lew.

Yes there is a look of Portillo here, facially and clothes! Goodness knows how you do some of your expressions Lewis but they are brilliant and always make me laugh!

He certainly looks smug Lewis. Love the look

This tan sketch-book is kept for portrait style pics...not 'real' portraits...made up ones. This was done with watercolour pencils.

About the Artist
Lewis Cooper

Self taught. Love drawing. Like to make pictures up, without using reference pics, often in cartoon style. I do other pictures where I do use reference. I'm knocking on a bit, born in 1940 in Greenwich, London. Retired, and loving it.
