Excellent work Lew and superb artwork , all those silly hats at Ascot certainly off a great opportunity to you . Some of them are unbelievable, I bet they cost a fortune in some cases enough to feed a family for a good period of time.

Thanks for your comments. I thought it was just for the rich and famous, apparently it isn't. Oddly the racecourse doesn't officially recognise 'Ladies Day', but it still exists. I'll bet the ladies have a grand old time dressing up.

So much fun..... brilliant. Went on a day trip to London one Ascot day,from up north . The train filled up with beautifully attired and wonderfully hatter ladies. They got on the train coming back ,pissed as newts, hats awry , broken heels, laddered tights. There was a scout band on board ,scouts played, piddled ladies bopped. Twas a memorable journey. No I wasn't one of them I think I had been to the Summer exhibition. Thanks for the memory Lew.

That horse is ideal for securing the KFC on her hat! When I went to As it, I wore the black hat that I wear for all events, including mad hatter's tea parties, funerals, weddings etc.

Struggling at the moment, not getting much done. I looked at ladies hats at Ascot, and decided whatever I do, the real thing is always going to be more outrageous. Mixed media, A3 sketchbook.
