I’d leave it as it is, Fiona. It reminds of the Alfred Hitchcock film, The Birds. It has an eerie, spooky feel about it. I like it.

I'd leave it too Fiona. It's just fine as is.

Hitchcock meets V. van Gogh. Wonderfully atmospheric charcoal drawing, Fiona. The field, furrows and grasses/stubble near the edge are just great. The frenetic energy of the flock bursts from the page to grab the viewer, almost insisting that they take another look. A master-class in developing movement, and beautifully impressionistic to boot. Brian

stay as is , the eye is already putting in colour.

Im.tempted to say leave it. BUT if you dont add colour, we shall never know... D

No! Don't add colour - do another one for that. Brian's comments couldn't be bettered, it's perfect as it is Fiona.

Pretty lively piece Fiona, love the loose interpretation of the birds, excellent as it is...

The way you've captured the movement is fantastic Fiona. This is such a lively piece and I like it a lot. Steve

I agree with the general opinion Fiona-. leave it as it is. It shows such movement and atmosphere.

I love it as it is too. It has a wonderful energy as it is. Take a photocopy and try colour on that before you do anything to this.

Now this has great movement with all those crows, I would leave it like this it's dynamic in black and white 😀

Fabulous action, stark representation, great marks. Terrific! B&W it is.

I agree Fiona - this is very successful. Lots of energy and action.

Definitely a hint of Hitchcock Fiona:)

Leave it Fiona, it reminds me of the film 'The Birds' too. I think there's more of an impact without colour.

Same as Seth & Jim. It is great and energetic and atmospheric, just as it is. Excellent.

Thank you very much everyone for giving me your feedback.....to colour or not to colour? I think , by a huge majority.....not to colour! Thanks!

I wouldn't add to it Fiona. Creepy. Seems to be an awful lot of these birds around these days. They always remind me of horror films.

Thank you Dorothy, yes I’ve decided to leave it, I may try another with colour at some point. Not over run around here really, just a small Rookery about a quarter of a mile away. I think they are more noticeable here at the moment because the farmers are silaging.

This is just marvellous!!

Thanks very much Diane, this is an old one!

16”x12” charcoal & chalk on canson. Might be tempted to add a bit of pastel.
