Glenturk Moor (again)

Glenturk Moor (again)

Yet another lovely piece Fiona, the freedom of your pen strokes is really great, love the muted and limited pallet as ever and the boldness of the foreground fading away to the distan hedgeline is so good and gives great depth, nice one.

I like Glenturk Moor by the way you paint it (never been)

Fiona aerial and linear perspective lovely and the drawing and placement of trees on the horizon is excellent

I like this with more colour Fiona and it's got a very fluid style - lovely.

Thank you Malcolm, Willie and David for your kind and generous comments. Willie, Glenturk moor is the name of the lane that is identified by the line of trees on the horizon of this picture. Glenturk is the name of the small area where I live, translated from the Gaelic 'Glenturk' means, 'valley of the wild boar', so I'm told.

Thank you Marjorie....since painting this the gorse in the hedgerows is in full bloom, it is almost changing daily.

One of your special limited palette watercolours, Fiona! Gorgeous, so subtle and gentle.

Beautiful Fiona, love the distant trees fading in the middle.

I love your pen and washes, as you know. Are you still using your 'new' yellow?

Beautiful Fiona, nice foreground and lovely depth. Your limited palette works always well.

Very effective Fiona. The glints of sun are lovely.

I love the fluidity of the sky. Looks like you used quite a lot of water

Show us some boar next time and we'll believe you. Without them this subject is always alive under your hands.

Very pleasing image you've created. Always great tones and depth and clever marks Fiona.

Oh yes, now this is a superb watercolour, love the sky also, dramatic and the simple composition really works a treat.

Ann, Carole, Gudrun (yes, still using the yellow but not in this one), Cesare, Margaret, Diana, Derek, Michael and Alan, thanks ever so much for your encouraging comments.....much appreciated.

Fiona this is lovely

Thank you Jenny, you are very kind.

Lovely fluid sky, Fiona; lucky you seeing this out of your window and getting to know it as you notice more and more as you paint it. I painted my garden through 4 seasons last year and now I see with new eyes how fast things change in it. You are so good with foregrounds.

Every one a winner Fiona and I like the added warmer colour s. Brilliant sky, lots of atmosphere too.

A classic watercolour superb work well done Fiona love it.

16" x 12" Watercolour on Arches. It's been wet again here, so another painting from the window.
