Great Fiona. Original and with a muted pallette.

It like ghostly and surreal at the same time Fiona. Very clever well done. The whites are holding it all together beautifully.

Lovely work lassie , some body probably squatting there now , its very good and has an immediacy about it that I very much like

Very striking indeed, the whites do make it look quite ghostly.

Lovely Fiona great studies

I like old derelict buildings, Fiona, and this really is a beauty. Love your mixed media technique, great!!!!

What a ghostly ruin! There's something about decay that's pleasing. Well Painted F.

Very atmospheric. It takes skill to create atmosphere. You clearly have that skill Fiona.

Tremendous effects created here and lots of atmosphere.

First one of the year Fionna and obviously encouraged by your prize winning effort.

Well observed Fiona: just browsing through the daily offerings and this stands out! There’s often drama and a good painting waiting in the less pretty side of life. Nicely done.

This is different, Fiona - has a distinctly ghostly feel to it with the white against those soft washes in the centre. A great start to the year!

This is very impressive Fiona -especially it's size. All those sketches & experiments over the past few weeks have surely contributed to such a unique piece. I really like it. Hope you survived storm Eleanor without any damage -it was pretty awful here too but all seems well.

Perfect subjects and rendition

Good use of the mixed media Fiona. Good result!

Super painting Fiona! Deliciously moody with a wonderful palette!

Great piece Fiona, this is a real mix of mediums!

Fabulous composition Fiona, and I love all the different mediums you've used, very effective 😃

Many thanks everyone for your positive feedback, appreciate you taking the time to give me your views. This was another of the buildings I did sketches of in and around Wigtown for last terms art project. I did the Quink ink work back in November but finished it a few days ago. Thanks again!

Lovely work Fiona, a real ram shackled building

Thank you very much Maureen and David for you comments.

Brilliant, Fiona. It is ethereal and ghostly.

Many thanks Shirley!

24”x16” mixed media: black Quink ink, Indian ink, printing ink, white gouache, oil pastels and candle wax on sugar paper. This derelict building is sited on the old show ground, awaiting demolition. It is constructed of a mix of building materials, corrugated tin, corrugated asbestos, pebbledashed panels. I seem to be seeking out old battered buildings at the moment....there may be a few more by morning after storm Eleanor has passed through!
