Oh well, there goes the sky! and up goes the horizon! Are you having a go at me? I've a bloody good mind to say that I don't like it.......but I can't. . Well done, Fiona. Flicking and splattering are good ways to start off these flowers. (Don't try to say that out loud if the bottle of Rioja is empty).

Oh Lionel, I did this one especially for you........okay, the next one, I promise will have a low horizon and a GREAT BIG sky! It was a warm sunny day in my head Carole, it didn't reflect what I could see through the window, our weather has been awful!

Hi Fiona, that's strange I was thinking of trying poppies for my flower painting. ( thanks for your comment as well) I did notice this watercolour of yours and should have commented earlier on how I love the composition especially with the post & fencing.

Lovely summer feel to this painting, Fiona. You have just hinted at what is there and left it to us, the viewers, to fill in the details, which is a great skill. Lovely colours and just delightful painting.

and here it is :) I took my poppy pic to a gallery and his reaction was, oh no, not another poppy painting! Poppies and Venice are popular subjects, now you have both! These poppies are lovely though, as I've already said! :)
