That is beautifully done, Fiona!!

How do you find khadi paper Fiona? A lovely result you have here.

Thank you very much David, Paul, Sarah…..much appreciated. Sarah, I treated myself to a couple of new sketchbooks for Christmas and one of them is Khadi. I’ve done a few plein air sketches in it and I like it. It isn’t the rough finish, so you don’t need to scrub the paint in so much.

Excellent, Fiona!

Very well done Fiona.

Superbly put to paper Fiona.

What a great old ruin Fiona, and a superb painting. If only I knew how to pronounce the name! 🤭

This is a cracker Fiona. Really is a masterly control of your tools and the medium.

Nice loose marks Fiona, a really effective sketch.

Lovely stuff Fiona.

What a cracking sketch!

Anne, Stephen, Chris, Tessa, John, Sandra, Andrew, Bobbie….thank you so much for your lovely comments. Looking at it again, wish I hadn’t added the branch top left.

A great subject Fiona, just my thing of course, and you’ve done some nice pen work.

This appeals to me very much Fiona. I like the Walnut ink, such a beautiful colour. Love the way you've painted the foliage.

Interesting subject - love the ink work

Well done Fiona, I really like that style

A wonderful documentation of the building's existence Fiona.

Very well drawn Fiona, that ink is great.

Thank you Alan, George, Maureen, Trevor, Denise, Sarah for your positive and generous comments.

Gorgeously painted/drawn, Fiona, I love the penwork it gives the age to the building. Listed or listing its great.

If someone doesn't save that building soon, it won't be there to save. Perhaps your drawing will help draw attention to it. Did you make your own walnut ink, or is this a commercial product? It works very well on the Khadi paper.

This is beautifully painted Fiona with great detail.

There’s something very appealing about wonky buildings and you’ve captured this one perfectly. Lovely range of tones and lines

I think this is fab Fiona, so well done.

Great sketch, Fiona, in that lovely walnut ink.

Wonderful Fiona, love your shading and the tree on the right

Many thanks Willie, Robert, Shaun, Martin, Heather, Jenny, Frank, for your great comments, they spur me on to achieve better! Robert, I would try making my own walnut ink if I could get hold of the walnut husks!

That's a lovely drawing Fiona, such a dilapidated building, yet so appealing as Martin has already said. I like your use of walnut ink.

Thank you very much Karen for your lovely words.

So beautifully done!

Thank you very much Romila, appreciate you taking the time to comment.

Thank you again Cheryl, appreciate your comment.

12”x12” walnut ink on Khadi paper, own reference. Built in the Gothic revival style and completed in 1820. No surprises that it’s on Scotlands buildings at risk register, listed as critical. A lot of the rear of this tower is missing and internal floors……hence the crooked look……not my eyesight , for a change! The rest of the building is in a similar state.
