The Indian Yellow is a lovely contrast to your dark colours Fiona!

We've followed the seasons on this site and now it's definitely winter. I love the shapes of those trees Fiona. Snow next?

This is glorious. I like your new yellow. I also like your pen and wash, lovely textures and spikiness as always. The colour works well to capture the season. I am sure it can be used in other contexts as well!

Lovely Fiona. I like much your landscapes.

This is a super one, Fiona. The trees and the little fence are very expressive of the scene, and the Indian yellow works a treat against what looks like indigo. You have a real individual style which is very refreshing. Lovely work.

You've developed a super style of your own - more please.

You are a magician Fiona

This is gorgeous Fiona, love the yellow :)

Thank you Sarah, Marjorie...we've had a bit of snow today so yes it could be next!!lol Gudrun, Cessare, Ann....the colour is a mix of ultra marine and a little paynes grey......Michael and Dennis, many thanks for your comments, really appreciate you taking the time to comment.

Thank you very much Maria!

Your pen and wash landscape paintings give us a lovely glimpse of the Scottish scenery Fiona. The Indian yellow has worked beautifully.

Wow fiona this is beautiful. love the shadows and textures....

Another winner, the leaves are gone, what are we in for next I wonder, weather wise

Love it Fiona, it has 'life'!

The yellow works really well Fiona, and I love the way you've painted the trees. (As I'm typing this, I'm looking out at our first snow flurry this morning here in Surrey - I'd rather look at it in paintings!)

Well I've woken up to a blanket covering of snow this morning also, and I love painting snow scenes.

This is really excellent yet again Fiona, your work is showing positive signs of progress, once again, I love the whole ambience of the scene, the two trees are particularly well drawn and the sky also. very impressed.

Sure looks wild and cold Fiona but has a stark beauty about it. All the cards are covered in frost this morning, so its moving South too!

Another super pen and wash Fiona! Ann is right, you do have your own lovely style.

Very simple but very effective Fiona.

You do give me such encouragement to make progress with my paintings, especially the pen & wash, as I see them as scruffy, scribbly and messy.....but with a little charm, I hope. Thank you again for your comments. X

Really beautiful work, Fiona. The warm and cool colors work superbly and I love the composition and your loose, lively lines and marks.

Thank you very much Seok.

You have a natural ability to finish a painting exactly when you have said just enough Fiona and your use of line is always understated and absolutely right. This is a really good piece of work.

This really appeals to me Fiona. I love the use of the ink .trees and shadows are superb. .i like the aerial perspective too..colours ,the lot ..I love it
Diana

It's always tricky to know when the next mark, could be a mark too far George. I suppose it can work the other way too, when you 'under do'a painting. Thank you very much for your kind words.

Diana, thank you very much! Appreciate you taking the time to look and comment.

I love your pen and wash paintings, Fiona. You have really got the knack of this and I love them.

Thanks very much Jennifer.

16"x14" Pen & wash on Jackson's rough. I've used a little Indian yellow again.....lol. You probably recognise the view, I've painted it many times at different times of year. There are a couple of beech trees in the hedgerow which are still clinging on to a few leaves. You can see the ivy covered trunks and the branch work now as well as the areas of standing water after all the rain we've had recently.
