Dead but Beautiful by Fiona Phipps

Comments

A beautiful painting Fiona , love the colours there is more wildlife living in a dead tree than when it was in full bloom.

It is indeed beautiful Fiona

Your recent trees are all great, Fiona particularly this one with those dry brush strokes -a joy.

Delightful as ever Fiona. Wonderful trees.

These are getting even better! I’m liking this one very much… Great illusion of depth behind the clump of trees!

Good for you getting out there to paint Fiona, lovely result. I love those little hints of pinky orange light on the tree.

Beautifully done, Fiona!

This is very well done Fiona.

Full of lovely shapes and interesting shadows Fiona. The branches and leaves may be dead but the light infiltrating the space brings everything to life.🌞🌞🌞

12”x9” watercolour on Arches paper. Even though this dead tree is bleached with age it attracts colours from the light and it’s surroundings. Painted on the spot …..which thankfully wasn’t too far away.
